From November 15th to December 24th … we’ll be taking a 40-day journey together through Advent - hope you can join in.

We’ll focus on * Christ's incarnation; * the joy that he is born in us daily; * and the hope of his certain return to make all things new.

The reflections follow a pattern of looking through Mary's eyes, exploring God's ways of intimacy, generosity and compassion, and also learning from Celtic saints. And in the final week before Christmas, we join with the monastic world in pondering the ancient O Antiphons.

Autumn Term 2024

We feel like we’re still at the beginning of this journey … things keep changing!

Hope you’ll be able to join in with some aspects of our Autumn programme

Practice 1- Prayer & Worship

We punctuate our working weekdays with prayer & worship, re-calibrating our lives in God’s presence regularly each day. We pray for the peace and prosperity of our city using the Daily Bell. And we support city-wide prayer initiatives. The house offers corporate prayer, and there are also spaces for private prayer.

Practice 2- Community & Hospitality

Community is a call to love and to unity. We intentionally commit to living as a community, generously sharing life with others, and positively connecting with the local community around us. We open ourselves to receive from others with humility and thanks. We have regular Open Table meals, most of which you can see on the Term Programme.

Practice 3- Mission & Discipleship

The prayer community is outward looking, engaging with the city of which we are a part, as the hands and feet of Jesus. We look to live openly with our neighbours and nearby schools as we actively participate in the life of the local community, welcoming input and help. We’re committed to learning together– growing to realise all of the rich potential that’s in our community.
