About Us
Birthed out of a 40 year journey of prayer for the city, Urban Abbey is a cross-Church Christian community that aims to radically follow Jesus, and to see His Kingdom come as we serve the church, city and region through prayer. We are convinced that God has big plans for our city, and we have the privilege of partnering with God, as we pray for these big plans. We know that we are weak, and often fail to live as radically as we’d like- we find strength in the combined commitment of the community.
Practices
Urban Abbey commits to three practices which form a 'Rule of life’. St. Benedict explained that a Rule of Life is “simply a handbook to make the very radical demands of the gospel a practical reality in daily life.” Our practices are:
