About Us
At 15 Castle Street in Sneinton, you’ll find the first physical ‘Urban Abbey’ that the community shares- some of the community live there too. This house hosts and fosters the core practices of the community. You are welcome to join us at this prayer house, though the practices can easily be adopted wherever you are. We hope to inspire and equip other similar houses of prayer all over the city.
We love the Church! We pray for her unity and fruitfulness. We are watched over & guided by a number of city Church leaders, and we encourage everyone in our community to be rooted in a local church.
We are part of the 24-7 Prayer family - one of the Houses of Prayer in the 24-7 Communities Network. This wild, radical and adventurous movement constantly inspires us, and we’re delighted to receive strong support and direction here.
These are early days in the Urban Abbey story– we expect to refine, modify and enhance our practices and rhythms over time, do pray for us!
